My name is Wayne Unger I am the owner and operator of Tamarack Inc., we are a high-end painting company, servicing customers in the Flathead valley.

My family and I recently moved from Sitka, Alaska to the Flathead Valley in June 2019. We chose Montana because of the quality of life and the opportunities we saw in the growth of the economy, especially in the construction industry.

Prior to Sitka we were living in Bothell, Washington where we had a successful residential and commercial painting business, WSMC Inc. I started the business in 1994, we soon developed a good reputation as being one of the best paint companies in the Seattle area. We specialize in all aspects of painting and stain work, including millwork packages, cabinets, stair casings, walls and ceilings exterior painting. Quality work is our #1 priority.

When the economy went into recession in 2008, I took a job in the fishing and seafood processing industry as the Plant Manager for Silver Bay Seafoods in Sitka. My previous experience in this industry and good reputation as a manager made Silver Bay Seafoods a great fit and a good decision. Our plan was to stay in Alaska until our two sons finished high school then we would relocate somewhere in the lower 48 and start the business back up. In the spring of 2019, we said goodbye to Sitka, and moved to Montana.

My sons have also moved to Montana and are currently working with me. My wife, Shauna does the book keeping, we make a great team!
